NaPoWriMo 2012 - 30 Poems in 30 Days - Day 30
Looks like we made it! Today is the last day of the NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Month) poetry challenge! 30 poems in 30 days never felt so good. I am super honored to present my last poem for the month and it was featured on today's NPR radio program Tell Me More. To celebrate National Poetry Month host Michel Martin featured the lyrical art form in a unique way, fusing poetry and social media. In the month long Muses and Metaphor series, Twitter users were asked to tweet poems using 140 characters or less and post them with the #TMMPoetry hashtag. Curator of the series, Holly Bass then set out to select her favorites to feature on the show and mine was chosen to close out the series!

Tameka, I'm so proud of what you've done this month. Your poetry is rich and wandering, taking the reader to so many places, surprising us with emotions. I loved your voice on this broadcast. Yes Andy! I think we all need to raise a glass of virtual bubbly! What an amazing month April has been. Thanks so much for being a mainstay here and for supporting me with your kind words. I so enjoyed reading your poems as well this month. I will try my best to drop in on Sat and will look forward to May 15th as well. Thank you!
Sweepy! Yes! I made it all the way this year. Last year I only got to 20 poems. I feel good about going the distance and getting this radio feature was a true joy. I have enjoyed your writing this month and will continue to be one of your biggest supporters. You are an amazing writer! Thanks girl!
